Hana to Ryu 4 by Kazuma Kodaka

Hana to Ryuu offers readers a darker, more violent look at the yakuza underworld than Kodaka's romantic comedy, Kizuna. Trouble has chased Ryuuji Kazama his entire life. When he was a child, his parents were killed by a rival gang. When he was a teenager, they struck again, raping and killing his guardian. Returning home to find her attackers, Ryuuji fought back and landed in a prison that gives Oz a run for its money in terms of sexual violence. Released from prison, Ryuuji thinks he's going to have to sell himself to survive on the streets with no family when he meets powerful Hitoshi Araki.

On the lighter side, Kizuna fans definitely won't want to miss volumes 11 and 12, where Araki and Ryuuji visit the head of the Sagano family and meet up with Araki's "little" brother Masa and his young charge, Kai Sagano.
